How do I get this app to connect to an existing Group in facebook?

Question: How do I get this app to connect to an existing Group in facebook? It seems I need to create a Fan Page in Applications in the developer area...if I have to do that, my existing group is not connected to that app. Can you guide me here on what to do? How do I connect directly to a group, or how do I make a fan page import a group so it works with this module?

Answer: To put a Fan Box on your page, you of course need to first have a Facebook Fan page — not a group. A fan page can be better utilized than a group because it functions just like any other profile. You can not import group users to the page, this kind of actions is against Facebook privacy policy :(

The better way is to create a new page and encourage your group members to join this page.

J!Position missing options

Question: While it appears to install jposition without error to Joomla 1.5, neither installed version provides the capabilities that appear on screenshots, i.e. the Published, Unpublished, Linked, Not Linked To Item icons. How can I get these options?

Answer: Try to select menu item on you left side. You will get modules options according to selected item.

What’s the main difference between JPosition and &tp=1?

In Joomla there is a hidden core function which once activated displays a layer on a Joomla website which shows you exactly the template positions currently used. To activate this function you just need to add ?tp=1 to the end of your current address. As an example take a look at the following link: http://www.style13.com?tp=1 As you can see, you can now see all the positions which are template makes use of.

However some templates using complicated module conditions. In this case tp=1 function become... unreliable, cause some positions layer just "disappears" from a page. If you an experienced joomla! user, than you already noticed that problem. J!Position takes positions directly from template parameters, in both system legacy and native modes, to solve this problem.

J!Position is a native joomla component, not just dislpays position like tp=1 function, but also manage modules inside these position. You can also check what modules are active for every menu items.
